Big, Bold, and Striking! Ipomoea tricolor produces large showy flowers. As with any morning glory the flower only lasts through the morning and early afternoon. Although the show is very rewarding. Flying Saucers is an old time favorite for most who grow Morning Glories.
It's one out of the five color varieties produced by this species. Ipomoea tricolor comes in white, blue, bicolor, and lavender. I'll be posting about those other kinds later. I've only grown this species outdoors in the past. I hadn't grown Flying Saucers and wanted to see it up close. Therefore I started this indoor specimen about 4 to 5 weeks ago. The first flower was breathtaking. I will definitely make space for Flying Saucers in the garden this Summer.
